Scott Memorial Education Program receives boost from Gymphlex Ltd.

Next year a collection of intrepid explorers will set off for an expedition to the South Pole to mark the Centenary of the Captain Scott expedition. As part of the commemoration a number of initiatives are taking place to promote enterprise, education and sustainability. The education program is being orchestrated by Education through Expeditions who will be visiting schools and youth groups over the next twelve months. To give children the best hands on learning experience, lab coats were an essential. Step forward Gymphlex Ltd, who were delighted to support this worthy cause with a donation of 50 children’s lab coats.

The education program is an essential part of the centenary celebrations, undertaking to educate the public about the role the Captain Scott Expedition played in advancing polar research and understanding the environment. By means of practical experiments and other initiatives, Education through Expeditions aims to give children a greater understanding of Captain Scott and his work. James Greenlees, Managing Director at Gymphlex comments:-

“Although many of us are aware of the name Captain Scott, a significant proportion of people remain unaware of how our understanding of the world has been influenced by his work. Education through Expeditions have set out to right this, with commendable objectives that we at Gymphlex are happy to support.”

Gymphlex provide lab coats for many schools throughout the UK, alongside professional quality sporting garments for which they are more commonly associated.

Education through Expeditions are planning between 12 and 20 ‘Polar Fun Days’ throughout the next 12 months. They anticipate that they will be working with upwards of 2500 children, who will all be sporting Gymphlex lab coats for the experiments within the workshops.
