Following on from an amazing weekend at Reading Festival on the 26th August, Gymphlex Hero Ben Heath gives us the low down on Psychedelic Rock ‘n’ Roll band, The Strawberries debut performance at the festival.
The annual Rock music festival took place on Bank holiday weekend, from Friday 24th to Sunday 27th August. Showcasing many worldwide names such as; Eminem, Kasabian, Bastille and Liam Gallagher, thousands of music fans visit the festival site each year.
The Strawberries are anything but festival novices… with Ben and the band previously demonstrated their talents at Leeds Festival last year.
Performing on the Jack Rocks This Feeling stage, The Strawberries was one of many UK acts supported by Jack Daniels, who for the third consecutive year have supported emerging talent on the UK music scene.
As one of the largest audiences the band have performed in front of, the support for the Leeds based band overwhelming. When asked which song was best to perform, Ben said: ‘’Our latest single 'She Rhymes to Get Away' was probably my favourite to play as, although we had a few technical difficulties, we barely noticed because the whole crowd were singing it back at us. As Reading is one of the biggest festivals we have performed at, the atmosphere was incredible, the great weather made it even better too!''
There’s a busy few months ahead for the Leeds lad’s with many gigs scheduled in for September and October. ‘’We're slowing down for a couple of months to focus on some of our new material but we've still got some big gigs coming up. The main one being the Leeds leg of Metropolis Music/This feeling's 'ALIVE' tour at The Wardrobe on 9th October.’’
